Denbies & Ranmore Common 5 mile walk

Leave The White Horse and turn left on the High Street. At The Star, turn right (north) onto Station Road. Cross Ashcombe Rd at the roundabout and continue north on Yew Tree Rd.

Go straight ahead at the footpath where the road goes right.

Continuing north, go through the kissing gate that opens to Denbies Wine Estate. At the top of the slight hill, you will enjoy two lovely views: Box Hill to the right (east) and the western dell of the wine estate to the left.

Coming to the gravel path, veer slightly left to the grass path, taking you to the paved land train path and turn left (east).

You may choose to continue on the paved path or go straight up the hill. Either way, continue uphill. The paved path will lead you to more spectacular views of Box Hill, Dorking, and the vineyard itself. At the top of the hill, the path ends at a gate and you will take a right (north). Turn left (west) and continue along the North Downs Way past Denbies House and St Barnabas Church.

Cross Ranmore Rd and go through the gate to Ranmore Common. Enjoy the sweeping views of the Greensand Valley before turning left (east). Cross through two gates.

In the treeline, the path will make a hairpin turn back to the west. Continue down to the Pilgrims Way Trackway.
