As a 13th Century Inn, the White Horse has certain limitations with regards to access. However, we have two Accessible rooms with wetroom bathrooms en-suite. One room also interconnects to a further double bedroom. There is level access between the buildings around the courtyard and within the main Inn, there is level access around the bar, area of the restaurant and to the accessible toilet. We do not have a lift but have ground floor bedrooms with level access. Our access statement can be viewed by clicking here

We close the bar at 11.00pm to all our guests with last orders call at 10.50pm, 10.40pm on a Sunday.

Cancellation policies vary depending on the rate plan you have booked. Details of the cancellation policy can be found on your booking confirmation.

Absolutely, we welcome well behaved dogs in the bar and they are welcome to stayover in a number of our bedrooms. We can accommodate up to two well behaved dogs in our dog-friendly rooms and provide a bed, food and water bowl and a treat.

We can accommodate small groups of diners in the dining room but do not have a private dining area and do not cater for wedding parties or private Christmas parties.

Prices will vary but as a guide, a saloon car will cost around £45.00 from Gatwick to Dorking. From Heathrow to Dorking, again as a guide, will be around £80.00.

Heartwood Inns have been cashless for a number of years, but we accept card payments.

We are a coaching Inn and have 16 car park spaces available. These are taken on a first come, first served basis and reservations are not possible. We have 1 EV charging point. Thereafter, Southside pay and display car park (postcode RH4 2DL) is just 4 minutes’ walk from the pub and operates with a Ring Go payment App. There are a number of EV charging points.

We are a short walk from Meadowbank Park and Cotmandene where dog walkers can exercise their pooches and take in the fresh air.

Dorking has a wealth of activity on its doorstep.  We have some local area information on our blog that can be accessed here or you could visit: www.visitdorking.com Dorking offers a variety crafts shops, boutiques, art galleries, jewellers, interiors and furnishing specialists sitting alongside eclectic vintage shops and fabulous antique centres.

Whilst lots of hotels offer this option, as a pub with rooms, we ask our guests to settle their food and drink bill on the day, in the dining room. This helps to make checking out of your room really quick and easy as there are no charges to settle and you can be certain that all your charges incurred are accurate.

We ask guests to vacate their room by 11.00am on the day of departure, so we can prepare them for the days arrivals. Late check out can be extended to midday at a charge of £50 per stay.

We will guarantee your room to be ready for arrival from 3.00pm, but if we can accommodate you earlier, we will, subject to availability. If you have booked directly, why not find out if your complimentary upgrade is available? Please note that this subject to availability so cannot be guaranteed.

Dorking has three railway stations. Trains run between Dorking main station and Dorking (Deepdene) and Gatwick airport. Journey times vary but are around 30 – 45 minutes. Trains from Dorking Deepdene to Heathrow take around 2 hours and require a couple of changes.
