Four legged friends

We appreciate your dog is an important part of your family so have created a pub and many bedrooms that cater for all their needs so they too can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Your time with us should be fun and comfortable so read on to find out more about what’s on offer for your perfect pooches…

Dogs very welcome

Whether you fancy a quick pint in the bar, the courtyard or plan to dine with friends in our gorgeous restaurant, we have numerous dog friendly areas that offer enough space for your pooch to feel comfortable. Water bowls and complimentary treats are also available too – all you need to do is ask. Please also note that we have a ‘paws on floors’ policy so kindly ask that you don’t use the seats to sit your dogs. Thank you.

Dog friendly rooms

We have 14 dog friendly rooms all of which come with a comfy dog bed and complimentary Digby Dog Pack that includes dog shampoo for when you indulge in the Dog Wash after a long ramble as well as some dog treats too! A room can take up to 2 dogs and is chargeable at £20 per stay (not per dog or per night). If you have a particular room type you’d like to book, please call us directly to talk to a friendly member of our team who will check availability and get you booked in.

Dog Wash

The best walks are likely to be the muddiest which is why we have created a Dog Wash in our covered courtyard to help get your pooch looking like new! Bring your Digby shampoo from your complimentary Bramley pack and your own towel (sadly towels are not provided) and wash away the mud from their paws leaving them ready for bed (or maybe dinner) feeling fresh and new…

Dog friendly dining

We have bookable dog friendly dining spots throughout the pub and restaurant so book ahead to avoid disappointment. We want to make sure you have all you need to make your time with us as comfortable and as easy as possible. We can’t wait to meet you!

How many dogs per room?

We are pleased to say our bedrooms cater for up to 2 dogs at a cost of £20 per stay (not per night or per dog). Let us know how many four legged friends you plan to bring so we can get their beds prepped for their awaited arrival.

Out and about

Box Hill is a haven for dogs. Long walks, the best vistas of the surrounding areas and space to really stretch the legs (and collect sticks!) – it’s a must visit during your time in Dorking.

Dog treats

We always have treats and water bowls available at The White Horse for your dogs as we appreciate walking up Box Hill is thirsty work! Available at no extra charge simply ask one of our friendly members of staff who will be happy to arrange a refreshment for your four legged friend. It’s our pleasure.

Stick library you say?

We know how exciting a stick can be for dogs which is why we have created our very own stick library that is located in the courtyard next to the Dog Wash. Filled to the brim with juicy sticks, bring your dog down to choose their favourite to enjoy during their stay. You are also very welcome to donate any sticks you find during your rambles too – the more the merrier!
