Four legged friends very welcome

We have a number of dog friendly rooms and of course our bar has lots of dog friendly spots to enjoy, so whether you book yourselves in for a few nights away to escape the hustle and bustle of life to be welcomed with a dog bed and complimentary dog pack, or you pop by for some complimentary dog treats and a pint, we are ‘pawsitively’ pumped to welcome you all to The White Horse, Dorking.

Cycling paradise

For all those who think the world is best viewed from the saddle behind a set of handlebars, the spectacular Surrey Hills is one to add to your bucket (or pannier!) list.  Whether you’re more of a road bike, a gravel bike or an e-bike fan there is something for you. Box Hill, made famous by the 2012 Olympics, is a must do and meandering around rural villages, including Shere of The Holiday fame and surrounded by some renowned climbs for cyclists, is the perfect way to while away your escape to the countryside.

Courtyard terrace

We have a delightful protected courtyard garden terrace to the rear of the pub situated just off the high street. This gorgeous haven seats around 50 guests. Some tables feature an umbrella whilst others are partially covered by a pergola – whether you’re a sun worshipper or not, it’s a gorgeous place to sit back and relax.

So much to see and do in Dorking

A ramble up to Box Hill, a long and lazy wander around the local antique shops, a trip to Denbies vineyard or maybe you just fancy soaking up the rich literary history that many writers have drawn inspiration from the landscape and the colourful characters of Dorking… there is so much to see and do so why not make it a long weekend stay to pack it all in!

Our dining area is full of charm and character and has a number of warm and welcoming atmospheric spaces where you can enjoy our signature à la carte menu, Sunday roasts and seasonal specials.  With our signature layered colours and quirky corners, you’ll find there is space for everybody and for any occasion so come and find your favourite corner.  Whether you choose to dine in our elegant and cosy dining area, pull up a chair by the log burner in our bar area that’s full of original panelling or settle into our window seat in the bay window you can be guaranteed a hearty meal.

Parking

We have 14 spaces available on a first come first serve basis however we only a few minutes walk away from the nearest car park that can be found using postcode RH4 1DX. We are sorry we cannot reserve any spaces in advance so be sure to come early to bag your spot. Why not indulge in a piping hot cup of tea or Illy coffee whilst you wait sounds like a good plan to us!
